College Text Book
Where do you go to look for a particular college text book? Well there are many sources of both new and used textbooks for college, both in bricks and mortar stores, for example your on-campus bookstore, or online at sites such as Amazon.com

To start your search, there are a number of vital bits of information you need. Most obviously is the title of the book, but more than that, you really need to know the edition or version no. that is relevant to your course. It is not unusual for a college text book to be updated many times as new or more relevant information comes to light. For example a new breakthrough in medicine may lead to many textbooks needing to be updated to reflect this new thinking, cure, treatment or whatever the breakthrough might be.
If the title alone is not enough for you to track down that elusive college text book, or if there is more than one book with the same name – very confusing, having the authors name will narrow your search even more. Even if there are multiple authors of the book, any that are credited will help you on your quest.
At this point, you, via an online search, or your local bookstore, with their in-house system, will have most likely tracked down the volume you need for your studies. However, if you are still drawing a blank but do know the ISBN no. of the text book you’re searching for, this will laser guide you to your goal.
Every book printed since the early 1970’s has a unique International Standard Book Number which up until 2007 was a ten digit no. In 2007 the ISBN was changed to a 13 digit number and this is a sure fire way of tracking down the college text book you need. You will generally find the ISBN number of a book on the inside page that lists the publisher details.
